The Villages Genealogical Society

Special Interest Groups

Covid-19 Notice
Due to Covid-19 and meeting room restrictions adopted by The Villages Recreation Dept., all indoor meetings of The Villages Genealogical Society are suspended until further notice. Our monthly general meetings will continue as scheduled except they will be live broadcasts. Many of our Special Interest Groups will also meet as scheduled using various video platforms. Stay tuned for meeting updates under "Coming Events."

Our monthly meetings focus primarily on general genalogical topics; our Special Interest Groups focus on specific areas of genealogical research.

We have established Special Interest Groups (SIGs), smaller informal workshops devoted to a single topic, that meet monthly. These provide the opportunity to meet and work with other genealogists in a small group setting. Currently, SIGs are organized on the following topics listed below. Click on any link to view additional information about that SIG.

New groups are always welcome and guidelines have been established for those interested in starting a new group. Questions about establishing a new group should be submitted to the SIG Coordinator Chairperson, Margaret Sgritta. You can contact her by email.
